About

Gil Bilodeau was born and raised in the Peace Region. Originally from Fort St. John, Gil grew up here until he moved away to pursue his hockey dreams at the age of 16. His athletic career enabled him to reach college level hockey at Grant MacEwan University in Edmonton, Alberta where he enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce Program. After a year of studies, he transferred to Camosun College in Victoria, BC where he graduated after two years with a Diploma in Hospitality Management. While attending college, Gil worked for the prestigious hotel brand Fairmont Hotels and Resorts in Victoria and Whistler, BC. Following his graduation from Camosun College, he enrolled at Royal Roads University to continue his business studies. A one-year condensed intensive program helped him achieve a Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurial Management.

Within a month of graduating from Royal Roads in 2015, Gil found himself back in the Peace Region where he started working for Direct Exteriors in Grande Prairie, a company his brother-in-law founded in 2003. This is where Gil learned his exceptional skills in exterior installation, working on projects such as large custom residential homes, insurance claim renovations and large-scale commercial exteriors. He quickly developed his skills and opened a sole proprietorship within a year (2016) and the year following incorporated GilBil Construction Inc. The company has had steady growth year after year and Gil’s brother, Adam, was added to the team in 2021 and remains a key player in its success.
